Scientists will be digitizing data from many years of bird surveys. They will be unified and compared with modern data for Karelia, on the one hand, and with information for the same period in neighboring countries, on the other. A new project initiated by ornithologists from KarRC RAS will help to understand how the numbers and species composition of birds in the republic have changed over the last half century and to identify the regional differences related to human activities and climate change.
